Maureen is an extremely creative and dynamic individual. No task is ever too daunting for her. She is an avid learner as well as a teacher and in the ever-changing field of educational technology, Maureen strives to keep abreast of new developments. Maureen puts an enormous amount of effort into her class preparation and it is evident in the response she elicits from her students. They thrive on her enthusiasm for her subject matter and are compelled to work at a higher level than even they thought possible. She is able to address different learning styles and takes into consideration each student’s individual bank of knowledge and then focuses her teaching style appropriately. As Lesley University’s Online Program Director, Maureen has been the driving force behind Lesley’s Technology in Education Online Program. Through her efforts the program provides students an anytime, anywhere master’s degree. Graduating students can take part in a “virtual graduation” as Maureen has ensured that Lesley’s commencement is beamed to her students all over the world. Maureen is a wonderful role model for her students as well as a caring and helpful mentor for the adjunct faculty. Several adjuncts have been quick to relate stories of how Maureen has supported them - always willing to go the extra mile. Maureen has been published in Leading and Learning, writing about Inquiry-based Learning and WebQuests, online professional development, and the Digital Divide. She is a sought after presenter in the field of online learning and inquiry-based teaching. She was recently awarded the 2003 International Conference on College Teaching and Learning Award for Innovative Excellence in Teaching, Learning and Technology and The Lesley University Center for Academic Technology 2003 Faculty Fellowship. |
